My Other Favorite Hobby: Scrapbooking

Along with creating jewelry, I have another fun hobby that I enjoy doing: Scrapbooking. It is like a walk down memory lane every time that I get out photos to look at. One of the best things I love about scrapbooking is putting together theme pages for each set of photos. When you create a theme page, it's like making your own personal story-book.

Photos tell a story-and it's a story that you can pass down to your children and grandchildren. Photos help spark memories and help us to share something precious-the gift of life. Taking photos can be a lot of fun-although I am one of those who don't really enjoy being in photos. As I have began to think though-perhaps I should be in a few more of those photos-the more photos that I miss out on-the more memories someone else may not have of me.

So if you are looking for a meaningful hobby-and something that you can continue to add more to as you go along-try scrapbooking. It's a great way to journalize your life and make a story for someone else to read.

I started making things in my home years ago but it was more for my own pleasure than for any other reason. I certainly didn’t expect at some point to start making money off all my creations but here I am cashing in on that site Etsy! My husband got us a CLEAR wireless internet package last year and since then I’ve been online a lot more than before. I love that there are so many sites dedicated to crafters now and this all started when I realized I was able to order my product online. The fact that I can get what I need without having to drive an hour into town made it so I was able to do custom orders and you know, the rest is history. I think it’s really cool that I’ve been able to make some side money doing this and that I’m getting better at what I love to do. Crafting isn’t just a hobby, it’s an obsession, and that’s the honest to goodness truth!

Sometimes I wonder how I ever lived without having Direct TV? It seems like there is so much to watch, and I have so little free time to watch it! I work during the weeks, and it seems like I never have time during the week to watch the shows and games that I want to watch. However, now I just record everything that I want to see, and then get to watch everything on the weekends! Sometimes I get so excited about it that I will just spend an entire weekend without leaving my couch. It sounds like it is lame (and it actually probably is), but I like to do it every now and then anyways! I went to direc tv nfl ticketto find out about the different packages and options, and now I can watch whatever I want- whenever I want. Usually it’s the Tide games and a few reruns of “Entourage,” and every now and then a movie on-demand that I really want to see. I’m not kidding you- I literally order to go food and do not leave my apartment all weekend. I’m telling you guys- it truly is the life!

Before I got married I lived in an apartment. It was nice being around other people and developing relationships with my neighbors. Some neighbors I could live without, but that is another story for another day. I noticed that the longer I was there I became immune to the various noises that were around me. The upstairs neighbors sounded like they were about to jump through the ceiling and I always heard a humming noise from the neighbors beside me. Guests would come to my apartment and wonder how I could function with so much chaos around me. They also wondered why I did not have a security system. My best friend would tell me that I was living in the Stone Age if I thought I did not need one. So we went online to http://Home-Alarm-Systems.com and I found a system in my price range. I felt safer and of course my friend took all of the credit. The only thing I did not find a solution for were the noise makers. They both moved out about two months later.

My favorite part about the television show is the last leg of the race when people are running - it is always fantastic to see who makes it first across that finish line.

Many people (like me) who watch the Amazing Race become attached to the characters there. The characters can almost start to feel like family to us as we watch their trips around the world. The Amazing Race is also very educational and teaches you about various parts around the world as you watch television.

I think that a lot of time it's the little things around your home that really make the difference in making your decor pulled together. The History of Mardi Gras Beads

During parades in New Orleans, people shriek and yell, pleading for those fun colored glass beads. Bunches of beads are thrown out towards the crowds during big parades, and the more, the merrier. While the excitement grows as these necklaces are being tossed, has anyone ever wondered, where they came from? Where did these Mardi Gras beads that America has come to love, originate from?

According to an informational article from Slate.com, the celebration of Mardi Gras beads records all the way back to the 1840's. These beads were thrown out as souvenirs to awaiting crowds. The people in these parades dressed as high-class aristocrats and tossed beads and sugar coated almonds. It is believed that the "throwing of the beads" was from the festival customs from the English Renaissance era.

Although, the strung necklace was a parade handout in the 1840's, the glass beads didn't actually arrive as a popular staple in New Orleans until the 1880's. In the Slate article, it stated that the first person in a New Orleans parade to use the beads was a man dressed up as Santa Claus. After that first appearance, the beads became an instant hit. By the year 1900, more than 100,000 tourists traveled to New Orleans for the parade and to witness and be a part of the popular bead tosses.

New designs have been added to the bracelet section at Sentimental Jewelry Creations. The first one is a Tropical Butterfly Bracelet, the second is a Pearl n Hematite Bracelet, and the last one is a bracelet that has been created to have an Antique Charm n Style to it.

They all have been created witg glass beads, pearls, and also swarvoski crystals. The butterfly bracelet has yellow satin ribbon weaved into it along with thin silver chain. Man...I have been sick for a week now. It all started last Friday morning when I woke up with a sore throat..and onto work I trudged. By afternoon--my nose was leakin like a faucet. This has been the cruddiest week. Went to the doctor on Tuesday to get some antibiotics. Ive been suffering from bronchitis and this darned cough all week.

Some can say--yeah-you've had a week off of work-but it's hardly been a vacation. Ive spent most of it in bed or on the couch. My ear still hurts today, and still have a small amount of cough. But Monday--i'll be heading back to the work, and I sure hope I feel better--In the summer time-it is no fun being sick.

Of course---i had a whirlwind of stuff going on the past few weeks, and perhaps somebody up higher was trying to tell me I needed to slow down too....So perhaps that's why I was blessed with this so wonderful sickness.. ha ha---

--Let's hope I get better!!!....
